Back to reality

I was supposed to go to the office this morning--I need to work a comp day. It didn't happen and won't happen. I have lunch plans, so I'll leave the house eventually, but I'm sure not going to the office. Oh well.

The knitting obsession continues. I've finished the projects for my nephew and sister-in-law. I'm working on the scarf for my niece but I'm a little bored with it. That means I need to pick up other interim projects.  This morning, that's what I did. I started swatching for a short sleeve sweater and another scarf--something that wasn't on the list. That's funny--why do I go to all the trouble of making a list and then start new things? In this case, I made a red hat and I have a lot of yarn left, perhaps enough for a scarf. So, a scarf was begun. It's a good carry along project, which I need. NEED, I tell you.

Yesterday, I played one game of flag football and reffed one game. I was mediocre in both instances, but I still had fun. I didn't dread the games, I enjoyed the bike ride to the field and I was pleasantly tired, but not exhausted, at the end of the day. I think this sport is a good fit for me--I just wish I had some skills.

And, the boy/man. I sent him an email on Friday. We all knew that was going to happen, didn't we? The email was short and his response was even shorter, "I'm a jerk, I'm sorry. I'm in the middle of moving. I will contact you this weekend, J."

I didn't reply. I am satisfied. He responded, he apologized and that was what I wanted. Two for two.

As to the intimation that he will contact me this weekend...or ever...I don't believe it for a minute. Fool me once...

Grateful for: limited foolishness.
